Madison Margot
Independent singer-songwriter Madison Margot succumbs to the allure of old love in her latest single, “TOO MUCH!”. A deeply introspective track, “TOO MUCH!” captures the tension between familiarity and distance, exploring the undeniable pull of a past romance.
Written by Margot and produced alongside Tone Def (Nat & Alex Wolff), “TOO MUCH!” seamlessly blends smoky guitars, soft Americana drums, and a subtle bassline, creating a sultry yet melancholic soundscape. The song’s storytelling unfolds in London, yet Margot intentionally weaves in a laid-back Southern California vibe, grounding the track in the two places that shaped her experience. “The story unfolds in London, but I wanted the production to carry a relaxed Southern California feel—since that’s home and where I eventually returned after going to get my things,” she explains.
Visually, the “TOO MUCH!” music video enhances the song’s themes of intimacy and liberation. Crafted with an all-female crew, including Cassie Howell (Director & Editor) and Olivia Neil (Director of Photography), the video reflects Margot’s commitment to female-led storytelling. “It was so epic to have an all-female set,” she shares, celebrating the creative energy behind the project.
“TOO MUCH!” follows the success of “Heralds of Hope”, which landed Margot on Ones to Watch’s ‘Now Watching’ playlist. Her previous releases have highlighted different facets of her artistry—the stadium-ready anthem “God Laughs”, praised by Wonderland for its soaring energy, and the wistful country-tinged “All My Wishes”, featured in Rolling Stone India’s “Hits of Tomorrow” series.
Since debuting with The Chronicles of Lovers (2020)—produced by Kyle Shearer (Tove Lo, Rina Sawayama, Caroline Polachek) and Dibs (Melanie Martinez, Carly Rae Jepsen)—Margot has become a rising force in LA’s indie scene, gracing stages at The Peppermint Club, The Viper Room, and beyond. With praise from Wonderland, Earmilk, Fizzy Magazine, and SheBOPS Zine, Madison Margot continues to captivate with her raw, heartfelt songwriting. With more music on the horizon, her most exciting chapter is just beginning.
